Addiction
Addiction spans many different areas. People can become addicted to things such as gambling, sex, social media and many more things but the main two categories are drugs and alcohol. The thing that they all have in common is the behaviours that the addictions trigger in us.
It is said that there is a link between addiction and trauma. As in, the majority of addicts would recognise having experienced some form of severe trauma at some point in their lives.
As such, addiction can be a complex thing thing to conquer.
Thankfully, we have some great options for you to seek help and support in East Riding of Yorkshire.
East Riding Partnership
Our Trust has been involved in the delivery of substance misuse services since the 1980s. We are currently commissioned to deliver a variety of addiction services to the population of the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Trust works in partnership with The Alcohol and Drug Service and NACRO as The East Riding Partnership.
The team provides support to service users but also to carers, family members and professionals seeking advice or signposting to other services.
Interventions offered include:

Young People’s Substance Misuse Service - Ads UK
The Young People’s Substance Misuse Service provides information, advice, support and treatment for young people up to 18 years old with drug and/or alcohol problems in the East Riding.
Self- referrals are welcome as are referrals from family members and professionals. We then contact the young person to arrange an appointment.
The majority of the professional referrals come from the Prevention and Education Team, the Youth and Family Support Service and the Youth Offending Team.
